NUF control panel for village size units

NUF is newly developed filtration system that makes potable, drinking water out of pond water.

NUF takes out all bacteria, viruses and pathogens through a system made up of hospital dialysis filters providing pure drinking water. The unit has a hand pump that provides 8 liters/minute (500 liters/hour) which satisfies an average family of four with their total daily requirements. NUF offer manifolds of units for unlimited flow range for entire villages that can be powered by 120 and 220 AC volt power or 12 or 24 volt DC power and we supply solar-powered units as well.

The small units are easily transportable by a single person. Please look at the short video for the NUF story…

NUF FAQs

Requirements for maintenance of the device (replacing filters, pipes united)

The system's components are very robust and designed to work in difficult conditions. The NUF membranes are highly resistant for operation under harsh conditions (waste water treatment) for more than 3 years with no change in performance . Apart from the NUF membranes the hand pump is specifically designed for its mission (with a double diaphragm) and is designed for pumping millions of liters. All other components for the valves and fittings are of standard composition .

What are the available flows?

The flows of the pump are for drinking water are. 8 liters/minute average . The hourly and daily flows depend on how often the operator uses the but our experience shows that the pump can be used reliably for 8 hours/day

What energy is required to operate the pump?

No electrical energy at all.  The pump works on human power.

What is the price point of the pump?

Approximately $20000 per unit, complete.

Which places in the world, and if there is product-specific and Africa sold some time to act on the ground (including feedback) do you have?

Our activities in the area of Mozambique began a year ago with an initial prototype, from which we learned about the special problems of such application. Then we made three prototype facilities in various facilities, about 7 months ago in Ghana. We provided the finished units in November to these villages. The results are simply stunning. Before installing the facilities were severely water-related diseases (diarrhea , dysentery etc.), diseases which disappeared after the installation of the pumps.

Do you have experience that the product is resistant to difficult conditions like sand, mud, harsh water and direct sunlight?

The product is closed and protected against all harsh conditions.

How easy or difficult is the operation of the pumps for operators who have no basic training?

The product is made for this population.

What is the life expectancy of the pump and is there a warranty?

The warranty covers all parts for one year and covers the membrane for 3 years.
